BMW plans to offer 12 full-electric cars by 2025

BMW Group has announced plans to offer 25 electrified vehicles, including 12 fully-electric ones, by 2025. The company is preparing to reveal a new four-door electric car at the upcoming Frankfurt auto show. The new model, positioned between the i3 city car and i8 plug-in hybrid sports car, is set to go on sale by 2021. BMW intends to increase the share of electrified models across all brands, including Rolls-Royce and BMW M vehicles. The company is investing in its factories to enable all models to be equipped with various powertrain options, including fully electric variants, to meet the potential demand for zero-emission vehicles. BMW also plans to unveil an electric Mini at the Frankfurt show, with a launch set for 2019, and an electric version of the X3 SUV to follow in 2020.
