Solar panel cleaning startup closes $1m series a

Saudi Arabian startup NOMADD has successfully raised $1 million in a Series A funding round. NOMADD, short for ‘no water mechanical automated dusting device’, has developed a system to clean dust off solar panels in desert conditions, which significantly improves their efficiency. The funding comes from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology’s (KAUST) Innovation Fund. NOMADD plans to use the investment to expand its presence in Saudi Arabia, make engineering and sales team hires, outsource certain functions, and conduct testing activities with potential customers. The company also aims to scale its operations beyond Saudi Arabia in the near future. The funding from KAUST is part of a series of tech-based investments aimed at supporting high-tech startups.
