Creating Solar Energy Jobs in the Sunshine State Should be Easy Right?

Creating Solar Energy Jobs in the Sunshine State Should be Easy Right?US Solar Institute (USSI) this week announced a partnership level alliance with Florida Alliance for Renewable Energy (FARE), which is dedicated to creating jobs and economic benefits to the citizens of Florida by the use of renewable energy through effective public policy.

US Solar Institute’s founder, Ray Johnson, stated

this is a natural fit between our two highly respected organizations. We have been watching Mike Antheil for a few years and honor his commitment to the industry through this partnership with FARE.

FARE is dedicated to a simple premise we stress at US Solar Institute “Policy dictates results – period.” Despite being the “Sunshine State” Florida is number 50 out of 50 states when it comes to a renewable portfolio standard (RPS). The RPS is the road map and commitment to renewable energy for a state or country. For example, California’s RPS demands 20% of all distributed electricity shall be renewable by 2020. FARE is working hard to change Florida’s commitment through focused lobbying efforts to guide legislation.

US Solar Institute is the region’s premier solar education center with the distinction of being the only solar dedicated Department of Education licensed training institute. USSI is also a partner with Underwriters Laboratory University, a Vocational Rehabilitation Provider and a NABCEP testing center.

For more information please contact FARE at (888) 501-FARE or [email protected] and US Solar Institute at (877) 769-7657 or [email protected].
