Second Quarter 2016 Model S Production Schedule Results.

Tesla reported that it will fall short of production schedule for 2nd quarter, leading some to speculate that they will not be able to make up the lost volume to deliver the 80,000 to 90,000 Models S’s promised by the end of 2016. For the quarter Tesla shipped 14,300 units compared to the target of 17,000.

As of April 7th of this year Tesla reported that they had presold 375,000 Model S Cars. If you do the math you can see that Tesla’s problems are far from over, if fact the real job may have just started.

This piece of bad news comes on the heels of another from last week where a Tesla Model S with autopilot engaged was involved in a fatal crash.

Here is the video of the Model S launch that spurred all of these presales for Tesla.

The Tesla Factory is located in Fremont, California and is considered ( by Tesla ) as one of the world’s most advanced automotive factories, containing 5.3 million square feet of manufacturing and office space.
