Construction is beginning on a 2-megawatt solar array that will supply about 10 percent of Ohio Northern University’s annual electricity needs.
The microgrid, which was funded, designed, installed, and integrated by SolarAfrica, consists of two independent systems, each of which has 106 kWh of Aquion batteries paired with a 37 kW solar array.
REI’s latest solar system will offset 100 percent of the facility’s annual electricity consumption, helping the company reach its goal of achieving a net zero operation.

The store’s 240,504-square-foot solar array will consist of a 1.14 MW system, built with 3,620 panels, and will produce approximately 1,750,000 kWh of electricity annually for the store
