h2e Power Systems Inc., a Pune, and New York based clean energy company, commissioned their first SOFC (Solid Oxide ) based power generator in India on August 15, 2015.   The was developed in technical partnership with IKTS of .

Their goal is to provide energy security and independence to the power starved hinterlands of India, to ensure that every farmer has access to 24×7 power, every home in rural and urban India gets access to uninterrupted electricity, and every commercial establishment gets good quality and affordable power

We are very impressed with Mr. Mayur’s vision and hence we chose to partner with h2e to develop the Fuel Cell system for the developing markets. Our team is working on cutting edge technology to build a robust, simple and a very efficient clean and green power generator for h2e, says Prof. Alexander Michaelis who is the President of the Fraunhofer IKTS Institute, Germany.

h2e has been innovating and developing their energy solutions over the last  6 years. They have collaborated on the technical side with Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, a leader  in the development of clean energy technologies.

The company has adopted a frugal engineering approach and has been able to develop their technology while keeping costs low. One of the reasons for their success has been their use of value engineering and innovation, adopting a common sense approach to complex engineering processes, being able to eliminate a lot of components and invent new processes along the way.

“This is our core IP, which we own”, says co-founder and CTO Amarnath Chakradeo,” h2e is going to be the first company in the world who will have a fuel cell (biogas and multi-fuel) based solution for farmers and this will help farmers get access to 24×7 power for their agricultural needs”.

Company founder Siddharth Mayur adds that his team is motivated and inspired by the #MakeinIndia call given by Indian Prime Minister Shri. Modiji and is working towards producing energy, which is made in India, for Indians by Indians.

The company’s initial target is to power telecom towers and commercial establishments with their solid oxide fuel cell system and then develop a product for residential and agricultural segments. The prototype has been commissioned at their lab in Pune and they expect to roll out the first commercial product by the end of 2016 at a price, which will be affordable to the average person. h2e seeks to become a key change agent in the energy sector in India and all over the world.
