Once fully operational, it will be able to generate more than 400 GWh per year, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption needs of nearly 198,000 Chilean households
It is vital that the rest of the world’s countries follow the example of Chile and abandon fossil fuels once and for all.
The Project is located in the Atacama Desert, which has the highest level of irradiation in the world, and will be connected to Chile’s Northern Interconnected System.
As previously announced, Etrion completed construction of the 70 megawatt (“MW”) Salvador solar park in northern Chile (“Project Salvador”) in November 2014, several months ahead of schedule and under budget.
These Projects will contribute to diversifying the energy matrix in the country, which is presently heavily dependent on imported fossil fuels
Each one consists of 110 MW of solar-thermal capacity using a concentrating solar tower structure with heat storage, and a 100 MW photovoltaic plant.
