The global clean energy movement has it’s champions in both industry and governments. Governments change and so do their policies as we are seeing in the UK and now the USA. The fight against climate change is being incresing lead by companies responsing to the demands of the consumers.
The power to change the world when it comes to climate change and clean energy is therefore really in the hands of the people. There are many companies that have decided to lead the way and set an example for all to see and commit to using 100 percent renewable energy in the near future. You can find these companies that have publically made this statement on the RE100 list.
What Is The RE100 List?
RE100 is a collaborative, global initiative of influential businesses committed to 100% renewable electricity, working to massively increase demand for – and delivery of – renewable energy.
Countries are also deciding what to do about climate change and how much of a commitment they are prepared to make towards a clean energy powered future. The 2015 COP21 meeting in Paris outlined an agressive ( possibly not agressive enough ) commitment plan for all countries to work together to achieve. Of course after a meeting like this each countrie’s representative must go home and try to garnish support from the government and people.
Countries can also outside of the COP21 agreement work towards their own internal goals for clean energy. In fact there are many cities that are right now already powered by 100% renewable energy and other cities that have made the commitment. There are cities that have set goals to be carbon nuetral and some that have set goals for all new buildings to be net zero energy. Net Zero Energy meaning that the building over the course of one year consumes no more energy than it produces.
We Decide To Become A Clean Energy Powered World!
In this excellant video you will learn a lot about clean energy goals from governments and companies and hopefully you will see the link to what consumers and citizens want for our future. Enjoy the video.
