There are some things that are possible and cheaper to do than if you paid for the real thing but you need to ask yourself if you should do it yourself. Some may argue that this is indeed the real thing and they would be right. These homemade panels will produce solar electricity as long as the sun is shining.
However, we need to remember that solar electricity is just as dangerous as any other form of electricity ranging from a car alternator to lightning. Electrical systems for commercial home use have to be tested and approved and the construction techniques are as important as the materials and design.
This video does a great job of showing the process of building a solar pv module or panel from the individual cells but not a very good job of cautioning the reader. Only experienced licensed electricians should install solar pv panels and only certified panels should be used, regardless of what the internet will tell you.
