SunEdison Inc, the world’s largest renewable energy company, today announced that Paul Gaynor has been appointed Executive Vice President of SunEdison responsible for the North American Utility and Global Wind business unit.
Mr. Gaynor was previously the Chief Executive Officer of First Wind Holdings, LLC, which SunEdison acquired last week. As the leader of the North America Utility and Global Wind business, Mr. Gaynor is charged with reinforcing SunEdison’s leadership position in the North America utility scale solar market, growing the global wind platform and accelerating the development and construction of the projects acquired from First Wind.

Mr. Gaynor had been Chief Executive Officer of First Wind since 2004 and has more than 25 years of experience in the energy field, encompassing leadership and finance roles in the energy, power, and pipeline sectors. Mr. Gaynor has held senior leadership and financial roles with Noble Power Assets, Singapore Power Group, PSG International, GE Capital and GE Power Systems. He has a Master’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago and Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
