Goal Zero and PowerFilm Solar ( Solar Thermal Magazine) – There was a time not long ago that if you wanted to take portable power with your on a camping trip or to a remote location you needed to pack some batteries or gasoline and a generator. Either of these 2 options are limited as far as how long you will have the power available and represent a significant weight if you are carrying everything in by backpack.
It is even more of a problem if you need to first bring these things by plane to get close to your location. They frown on storing batteries in the cargo hold of a commercial airliner for sure.
Goal Zero and PowerFilm Solar comparison shopping.
I am giving this bit of background reflection because here we are today with solar portable power options that we can compare and discuss. The two different types of portable power being compared are very representative of two different types of solar pv technology. There is a smaller but heavier silicon based solar pv system from Goal Zero and larger but lighter thin film solar technology from Powerfilm Solar.
It is great that we are in a position to be able to comparison shop for solar portable power options. Enjoy the video.
