Energy Treasure Hunts manufacturing energy audit

( Solar Thermal Magazine) – Using a method developed by Toyota, a GE team goes on an energy Treasure Hunt to find energy and CO2 savings at a Wisconsin plant. Since the start of the program, GE has carried out over 200 Treasure Hunts across its own facilities, saving more than $130 million.

“Extending our Treasure Hunts to external partners and helping them reduce costs and save energy is a logical next step for GE,” says Steve Fludder, vice president of GE Ecomagination.

Steve Rajnay, GE Energy:

It never ceases to amaze me how much stuff is turned on that is supposed to be turned off.
