Bosch Rexroth’s Hydrostatic Transmissions for Hydrokinetic Ocean Power Devices

Hydrokinetic Ocean Power Devices ( Solar Thermal Magazine ) – This video does not have much in the way of  subtitles or voice over but it does highlight design options for tidal and current hydrokinetic machines to make clean energy from our oceans and riverways. By using hydraulic motors as pumps, ocean energy engineers are able to easily position and reposition the turbine heads to maximize the energy conversion of the water currents.

The low speed units are submersible and can be mounted directly on the turbine without any special arrangements. The electric generator and the hydraulic high-speed unit can be housed in a suitable manner to protect them from the environment and make them accessible for maintenance.
