Wind and Solar Electric Power Systems ( Solar Thermal Magazine ) June 17th,2014
According to the experts at NOAA’s Earth system research laboratory in Boulder Colorado, the geographic location dictates the co2 mitigation cost opportunities. Looking at Post Industrial carbon dioxide levels, wind capacity factor maps and solar pv capacity factor maps, researchers conducted a 5 year study to determine the geographic domain size effects of wind and solar energy generation.
The team built a national energy system designer that cost minimizes using hourly wind, solar and load data concurrently.
