Morocco's Ambitious Renewable Energy Goals Involve using Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Technology
Concentrated Solar Thermal Power Technology ( Solar Thermal Magazine) – Morocco’s new strategy to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and foreign imports hinges around increasing the countries renewable energy capacity by 41 percent by the year 2020. Morocco estimates that the Morocco Solar Plan which includes investments in concentrated solar thermal power technology will deliver 2000 MW towards Morocco’s renewable energy target.
The program will cost an estimated US $9 billion and provide many new jobs and economic opportunity for the country.
The country is making the financial and human resources available accordingly and has created a dedicated plan to achieve their goal.
