First Ever Green Festival in Los Angeles
SAN FRANCISCO – The Sierra Club, the largest and most influential environmental advocacy group in the country, is pleased to announce the screening schedule and panel discussions at the first ever Green Festival in Los Angeles. The Green Cinema is a collection of informative and entertaining environmental documentaries, short films and theatrical trailers, in addition to an array of panel discussions. The event will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center on October 29 and 30, 2011.
The Sierra Club Green Cinema schedule (all times are Pacific Standard Time):
Saturday, October 29
11:30am Screening: Eco trailers & shorts, presented by the Sierra Club
12:30pm Screening: GreenLit
1:30pm Panel discussion: Hollywood Goes Green
2:30pm Presentation by Brave New Foundation
3:30pm Panel discussion: Women, Media and Power
4:30pm Panel discussion: Blogging for Good
Sunday, October 30
12:30pm Panel discussion: Global Sustainability
1:30pm Panel discussion: So You Wanna Make a Movie that Matters
2:30pm Panel discussion: OMG TXT ME ASAP
3:30pm Screening: Eco trailers & shorts en espanol, presented by the Sierra Club
4:30pm Panel discussion: Art and Sustainability
Subsequent to the Los Angeles Green Festival, the Sierra Club will also partner with the Green Festival in San Francisco on November 12 and 13, 2011 at the Concourse Exhibition Center and in New York City on April 21 and 22, 2012 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Films, panel topics and schedule may vary. Admittance to the Green Cinema in LA, San Francisco and NY is free to Sierra Club members.
The Green Festival, a project of Green America and Global Exchange, is the largest sustainability event in the world. The festival celebrates what’s working in our communities and around the globe, showcasing the most recent developments in renewable energy and green technology through how-to workshops, cutting-edge films, fun activities for kids, and informative presentations.
