Woman Business Owner Creates Clean Energy Jobs by Being Bold.

Woman Business Owner Creates Clean Energy Jobs by Being Bold.Gilbert-based ColnaTec LLC, a designer, developer and manufacturer of state-of-the-art sensors and electronic instrumentation used in the production of thin film solar cells, is being featured on the official White House website as part of the White House series, “Champions of Change” (https://www.whitehouse.gov/champions).

The Champions of Change series highlights ordinary Americans with extraordinary contributions within their communities, with a focus on exceptional development, innovation, and education as a means for the United States to remain a world leader.

“Being featured as one of the Champions of Change by the White House is a significant honor for us at Colnatec” said Ms. Jameson. “In May, we were invited by ASBA to participate in the White House Business Council Roundtable in Phoenix, and we offered our opinions on how to make small business great. Later, when we were invited to be on whitehouse.gov, we felt very privileged to have been chosen as one of only a handful companies selected from nearly 3,000 organizations who participated across the USA.”

The White House Business Council and the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA, https://www.asba.com/) have partnered in a series of roundtables with business leaders to identify opportunities to grow the economy, increase employment and remain competitive in the global marketplace. In the first 90-minute forum, in which Colnatec participated, four primary topics emerged—access to capital, regulatory hurdles, healthcare reform and workforce development. Additional roundtable discussions are currently being planned, with the purpose of listening to feedback from more Arizona small business owners.

“Colnatec looks forward to continued participation in forums like the White House Business Council Roundtable,” says Wendy. “Growth of our company and other micro-businesses like Colnatec will be a result of the government and American small business working hand-in-hand with each other. By listening and responding to our needs, it is a win-win for our country and small business as we continue to create new jobs.”
