Patent Pending. Solar Industry’s First Adaptable Array

Patent Pending. Solar Industry’s First Adaptable ArrayThe San Francisco Based Design/Builder of Solar Canopy Support Structures Answers Industry’s Call for Design Flexibility and Future Upgrade Capabilities with Solumbria

Build Group, Inc. (www.buildgc.com) today announced that the company will launch their much-anticipated new product, Solumbria, at Intersolar North America. Designed to fit any manufacturer’s solar panel, Solumbria is the industry’s first adjustable array for use in building canopy support structures.

Previously, owners of solar installations had to customize each array to fit each manufacturer’s photovoltaic panel. Arrays were welded onto the steel support structures. When next generation photovoltaic panels were introduced, it was cost-prohibitive to upgrade. Solumbria’s *Patent Pending modular system adjusts to fit any panel regardless of manufacturer thereby creating ultimate design flexibility and ease in upgrading.

“We identified the need for more flexibility while working with top-tier solar companies designing and building support structures around the country,” said Eric Horn, Build Group’s Chief Operating Officer. “Our experienced team of builders and consulting engineers spent a year in research and development and have come up with a design that we are confident will revolutionize the industry.”

“Solumbria will be inventorying our new modular structurally approved adaptable solar parking structures at various locations throughout the US in order to greatly reduce or eliminate the significant time to market dilemma experienced by all competing systems,” said Jason Berry, Build Group’s Chief Financial Officer, an international supply-chain expert. “Solumbria will enable end users to quickly and efficiently build-out their solar systems which is vital to project cash flow and investor ROI. Additionally, due to the nature of this *Patent Pending modular system, the horizontal panel array can be upgraded with very little cost at any time as solar panel efficiency reaches a positive ROI relative to cost vs. output.”

Build Group representatives will demonstrate Solumbria using a scale model at Intersolar North America, booth #7519.

With 30 MW built, under construction or in design to be completed by year end, Build Group’s notable solar projects include: 1.4 MW for URS Corporation at Camp LeJeune, North Carolina; 8 MW for Chevron Energy Solutions at various campus throughout Northern California, 8 MW for Solar City in various school districts across California, 4 MW for REC Solar at the West Los Angeles Veterans Affairs Hospital, 2 MW for REC Solar at the Bay Pines VA hospital in Florida and .5 MW for REC Solar at the VA hospital in Martinez California.
