Home Solar Heating Solution Consists of Glass Rooftiles or Wall Panels

Home Solar Heating Solution Consists of Glass Rooftiles or Wall PanelsThe SolTech System is an effective, sustainable, flexible and elegant solar heating solution that integrates into your building. This unique system consists of roof tiles or wall panels of glass, special heat absorption felt and the beams under the felt that form the air layer where air circulates, warmed by solar energy.

The unique design of the SolTech System uses all or parts of the roof and/or walls and can be connected to other heating systems. As the solar energy system forms an integrated part of the building, it is part of its protective shell, that is to say surfaces that keep rain and nasty weather out. The SolTech System can be mounted on existing buildings or form part of a new building.

Furthermore, the solar heated layer of air under the roof, or behind an outer wall, means the system acts as extra insulation, something the company claims competing technologies do not offer.

The system’s components, like the glass roof tiles, have a longer lifetime than ceramic or cement tiles. The absorber felt, which acts as the waterproofing layer, has a lifetime comparable to normal roofing felt.

SoluppgangThe SolTech System generates between 300 and 500 kWh per square meter per year. The angle of the roof should be over 20 degrees and we recommend you use at least 20 square meters. You will get best results if you roof is un-shaded and faces south, however, south-west and south- east facing roofs give good results too.

Success for SolTech Energy in Spain

SolTech Energy’s wholly owned Spanish subsidiary, SolTech Energy Mediterraneo S.L. has received two orders corresponding to EUR 48,000. SolTech Systems are to be installed in two private homes in Mijas and Benahavis, outside Malaga in southern Spain during the spring/summer of 2010 and represents 18 and 45 m2 respectively.

– The 45 m2 system will be integrated to a central heating system with under floor heating. In addition, the system will also provide support heat to a glassed-in terrace during the winter.

– The 18 m2 system will be installed in conjunction with a major refurbishment of the house, and also includes a solution with under floor heating and accumulator tank.

– Both installations are eligible for subsidies, of up to 60% of the total installation cost.

– We have during the spring seen an increased interest in SolTechs systems in Spain, and are very pleased and proud that we now seriously have initiated the commercialization phase, which forms a significant part of our future strategy and growth. As a result, we have during the spring of 2010 expanded our capacity in Spain in order to in a more efficient manner, market, assemble and install our systems and serve our Spanish customers, says CEO Frederic Telander.

As a complement to SolTechs air based systems solution, SolTech in Spain now also offers a newly developed water based system adapted to the Spanish building code.

For the first SolTechs System installation in Spain, the customer received 59% of a maximum 60% of the total installation cost in, government subsidies.

The Company in short

SolTech Energy develops markets and sells a solar energy system based on several years of research at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden (KTH). The system makes part of a building’s outer shell in the form of a roof and /or a facade of glass and acts both as roof and/or wall, added insulation and solar collector.

The system is suitable for new builds as well as for installation on all types of existing buildings, ranging from private homes to apartment and commercial buildings and properties. The system can be combined with all currently known heating systems ranging from electrical, oil, pellets and wood fired boilers to various forms of heat pumps (ground source heating, air / water / air / air) and district heating systems.

SolTech currently operates in Sweden and in Spain through its wholly owned subsidiary, SolTech Energy Mediterraneo S.L. and today has approximately 700 shareholders. The SolTech share is being traded on Alternativa aktiemarknaden, www.alternativa.se.
